In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK preparing for a speech at the Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that night, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters delayed my talk don't think I can catch the flight we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a Gulf Air departing at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an excellent assistant".

These exchanges were published on this week together with over 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's identity is withheld. Media outlets has been able to establish his identity by matching the timeline, events, and locations referenced.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the chat, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and gave the talk at the Oxford Union on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the inquiry.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of Trump's closest aides in the lead-up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but resigned from the administration in 2017.

He has admitted he was making a film about Epstein prior to his death and reportedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he stated: "We're going to release the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed materials indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier occasionally appearing to serve like a aide.

A few days prior to the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r pretty good asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you are taken care of."

UK Politics Discussed in Messages

The published messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in that year.

Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit thing this day with Farage, Johnson and Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to Theresa May, the struggling UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "They are trying to proceed. may today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as long as you can in the UK. Best-- so people get the commitment of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely however the people over here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to step up".

Theresa May was finally removed in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A representative for the political party informed media: "Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter occurred.

The Congress will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its files related to its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in prison in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed recently after the publication of over 20,000 documents from his archives.

A portion of those referenced the former president, who has repeatedly rejected any wrongdoing. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, a couple of years before Epstein was first arrested.
