This online marketplace has updated its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Response Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing because of the remapping. The company said the revised method more closely matches other platforms. It has advised users to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Changes Previously, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Accounts Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. A different member, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: previously, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
