The British government is prepared to move forward with employing the total value of immobilized Russian assets to support Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the officials of the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to engage in negotiations.

They added that the initiative would be implemented in tight collaboration with the United States.

UK penalties have immobilized more than £25bn of Russian resources since Russia began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, funds sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had only been drawn from gains and dividends generated on them.
